Kanika African Sculptures

About Kanika

Our mission is to share the strength and majesty of ancient cultures with collectors of Black art via beautiful, spiritual sculptures and clay pottery that are hand-crafted by owner-artist Kanika Marshall in her Elk Grove art studio near Sacramento, California.  Some of the black doll figurines, goddess statues, African mask sculptures, and African art gallery pieces are further adorned with authentic African fabric, ethnic jewelry pieces from African traders, leather, glass and wooden beads, shells, metals, stones, feathers, wool, breast plates, or other organic materials and found objects.  The breast cancer survivor pendants are glazed with hopeful colors representing a zest for living.  Further, the low-fire pottery bowls and other clay vessels are decorated with interesting tribal designs and colors.

"
My African ancestors work through my fingers to create each collectible black art . My love of clay, tribal people, cultural traditions, African fabric, and African art to produce an exciting and unique form of self-expression.   Each Black art sculpture holds special personal significance and has its own positive spirit and personality.   The draping of African fabric, leather, and beadwork over the one-of-a-kind sculptures is a mystical, sensual experience.   I want to impart the beauty and elegance of traditionally-dressed peoples into each Black doll and infuse a bit of my energy and positive spirit into each art piece.   I hope you enjoy the ever-changing Kanika African Sculptures collection."

                                                                                            Sincerely, Kanika Marshall
