Kanika African Sculptures

Three-Dimensional Sculptures

Kanika Marshall enjoys cutting pieces from a 25-pound block of red clay and hand-building organic, three-dimensional art sculptures ("molded from a lump of clay").  She fires them in a kiln to about 1900 degrees, hand paints the clay sculpture using vivid tribal colors, fires them at least one more time, then adds different mixed media such as authentic African fabric, leather, stones, glass, metal, beads, wood, and shells.  Each piece is a one-of-a-kind collectible art sculpture.  Some have a distinctively African art flair and others celebrate the interplay between humans and the environment.  Goddess art, survivor art, African sculpture, and black art are represented here.  If you are interested in purchasing any of these large sculptures, please contact Kanika to learn the price and which gallery/store is currently selling it.

NOTE: Sculptures which are well-suited for outdoor use are prefaced by "GA" (for Garden Art).
